Two concerts of the Tuscan Festival of Early Music at Palazzo Pilo Boyl, hosted by the Sant’Anna School, in the garden and in the Music Hall

For the first time, the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa opens the doors of the evocative Palazzo Pilo Boyl to host two events of the Festival Toscano di Musica Antica 2025, a prominent event dedicated to the rediscovery and promotion of ancient musical heritage.
The Tuscan Festival of Early Music, directed by musician and musicologist Carlo Ipata, takes place from June 11 to July 6, 2025, in various locations across the province of Pisa, including Camaiore, Vicopisano, Barga, and Pisa itself. The festival features a rich program of 16 concerts, covering a wide range of styles and periods, from the Renaissance to the Baroque and the 18th century.
The aim is to bring early music to life in historic settings that enhance its evocative power, offering the audience an immersive and engaging experience.

This multimedia performance, conceived and performed by Francesco Di Fortunato, takes the audience on an emotional journey through Italian Renaissance music. Combining storytelling, video art, and live performance, the show features madrigals and sacred pieces by composers such as Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Jacques Arcadelt, Luca Marenzio, and Cipriano de Rore. The experience offers not only a rich auditory immersion but also historical and cultural insights that make this often-overlooked repertoire accessible and captivating.
